Before the border run trip, Lynn Visa may mention the option of picking up or receiving your physical passport at our office at least two days before departure. Some customers may misunderstand this as an obligation, but this step is completely optional.
When we collect passports in advance, we prepare and process the Laos visa ahead of time. The Laos visa is required and is already included as part of our service. In real border situations, Vietnam immigration often takes longer than the Laos side.
Another benefit of arranging the Laos visa in advance is that you won’t need to bring a physical passport photo. Without a photo, Laos immigration normally charges 50,000 VND in cash. Preparing the visa in advance helps you avoid this extra step.
In many cases, Vietnam re-entry approval is completed very quickly, and passengers are expected to return immediately to Vietnam to receive the final entry stamp so they can be cleared to board the bus. If everyone is still lining up to apply for the Laos visa at that moment, it causes unnecessary waiting and delays for the entire group. Preparing the Laos visa in advance helps ensure faster movement between checkpoints, smooth Vietnam re-entry, and a more efficient visa run schedule for everyone.
It’s important to note that Laos visa processing is very fast, usually completed within one to two working days. Once finished, you can collect your passport right away or choose to leave it with us until the visa run day. You may also skip advance processing entirely and complete everything on the day of the border run.
For your convenience, Lynn Visa offers passport pickup from your home or hotel. If you live far from our office, you can simply skip advance submission. This option exists only to save time and travel costs — never to make the process more difficult.
In summary, collecting passports in advance is purely an optional convenience, designed to make the visa run day smoother, faster, and less stressful. You are always free to choose the option that works best for you.
